James Lappeman the Head of Projects at the UCT Unilever Institute of Strategic Marketing. He has a PhD in Business Science (specializing in marketing and consumer behaviour) and also holds a Bachelor of Business Science and Masters in Social Science. James has taught and consulted for a number of institutions and has published articles in the news as well as in both local and international academic journals. Recently he co-edited a book, Marketing in South Africa, which was published by Van Schaik Publishers in 2017.
James has a deep interest in marketing, business strategy and South African consumer behaviour. He has built curricula, supervised research and taught on the above topics to corporate strategy teams as well as to undergraduate and postgraduate students at UCT, UCT’s GSB, Henley Business School, Vega, Red & Yellow, GetSmarter and Educate24.
